Differences between fluoroplastics and fluororubber
Release Time:2023-10-31 Browse:98

Although both fluoroplastics and fluororubber have fluorine content, they are two different materials with significant differences in composition. In contrast, fluororubber is soft, while fluoroplastics are harder, but both have good corrosion resistance. In fact, fluorine rubber is easy to identify, but the quality of fluorine rubber is difficult to say. Some believe that the odor is distinguishable, some believe that it needs to undergo performance testing, and some believe that infrared spectroscopy is more scientific.

200 ℃ fluororubber heat shrink tubing is made of fluororubber as the main material and has excellent high and low temperature resistance, oil resistance, and chemical reagent resistance. It is particularly suitable for places that require heat resistance and environments that require chemical solvent resistance. 200 ℃ heat shrink tubing is suitable for insulation protection and stress relief of cable harnesses in these environments, protecting electronic and electrical equipment from damage.

Compared to other heat shrink tubes, 200 ℃ fluororubber heat shrink tubes not only have high temperature resistance, solvent resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, radiation resistance, and excellent oil resistance; Moreover, it does not contain substances harmful to the environment such as chlorinated compounds PCBs, PCPs, polybrominated biphenyls PBBs, polybrominated oxidized biphenyls PBBOs, polybrominated biphenyl ethers PBBEs, PBDEs, etc. It meets the environmental requirements of the European RoHS environmental directive and SONY SS00259 standard.

Fluorine plastic is a material with good corrosion resistance, which can withstand the action of all strong acids, strong oxidants, reducing agents, and various organic solvents except for molten alkali metals, fluorinated media, and sodium hydroxide above 300 ℃. At the same time, it has a characteristic that the protruding surface is not sticky, and known solid materials cannot adhere to the surface. It is a solid material with the smallest surface energy.

Moreover, fluoroplastics have excellent atmospheric aging resistance, radiation resistance, and low permeability, even after long-term exposure to the atmosphere, their surface and properties remain unchanged. And it also has valuable non combustible properties, with an oxygen limit index below 90.

In short, fluororubber and fluoroplastics have different properties and characteristics, so the scope of application is also different. When choosing, we must consider various factors comprehensively before determining.
